TIM HADEN BIO

Tim Haden was a graduate of Mars Hill College and attended Berklee College of Music, with graduate study at the University of Michigan, University of South Carolina and University of North Carolina-Asheville (UNCA).

Tim served as Director of Jazz Studies and Artist-in-Residence at UNCA. After his retirement, he continued to support music education as Coordinator of Jazz Studies at Clemson University, guitar instructor and combo director at UNCA, and guitar instructor at North Greenville College.

During his career, Tim performed with jazz artists Keith Jarrett, Maynard Ferguson, George Benson, and Stanley Clarke, among others. As a studio musician for Motown Records, he recorded and played with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye. He organized, arranged music, and performed with nationally recognized trio TRIAD, jazz-fusion group ORACLE and the UNCA Jazz Lab Big Band.
